The "Heavy Sixer" CX-2600 console is the first Atari 2600 model, produced between September 1977 and July 1978. The nickname "Heavy Sixer" is due to the fact that this console has a thick styrene bottom, which adds considerable weight to itself. Most of the "Heavy Sixers" were produced in Sunnyvale, California, USA, near the Atari headquarters. The "made in Taiwan" variant was the last run of "Heavy Sixers" which occurred in the last months of production, in June and July 1978, with leftover Heavy Bodies and boards coming from Sunnyvale. Due to the short production of the "Heavy Sixer", less than a year, this console model is quite difficult to find but the Taiwanese variant, with its production of just two months, makes it the rarest model to find.
