Beamrider is a 3D arcade action game developed by Cheshire Engineering and published by Activision in 1984 for Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit, ColecoVision, Intellivision, MSX, Windows, Xbox 360 and ZX Spectrum platforms.

You control a beam riding spaceship on a mission to clear 99 sectors of space from hostile aliens. The spaceship is located at the bottom of the screen and can only stop on one of the five beams available. You are armed with both lasers and torpedoes and to complete a sector you must destroy fifteen white flying saucers followed by the sector sentinel. Each even number sector up until sector 16 will add a new type of enemy to face. Occasionally a rejeuvinator will appear, if this is collected you gain an extra life, otherwise it will turn into an enemy.
