The VIC-1210 3K Memory Expander Cartridge is a Random Access Memory (RAM) expansion device produced by Commodore Business Machines Ltd. (CBM), a subsidiary of Commodore International Ltd., for the VIC-20 computer in the 1981. It plugs into the cartridge port of the VIC-20 and thus provides a total of 6655 bytes free for user programs in BASIC language (including the VIC-20s built-in 3583 bytes of user RAM) which allows to write and use longer programs, store more data and increase the VIC's capacity.

Since the VIC-1210 memory expander doesn't cause the VIC-20 to move the location of video memory in the memory map (as occurs with other larger expanders), most BASIC programs that work well on an unexpanded VIC-20 are also compatible with a VIC-1210 expanded VIC-20. Moreover, by using a slot expander peripheral, the VIC-1210 can be used in combination with other RAM cartridges (such as the VIC-1110).

The VIC-1210 3K Memory Expander is usually housed in a brown cartridge style case, however there are a few variations and this is one of the hardest to find, especially in brand new and still shrink-wrapped condition.
